Cedar City, known as Festival City, USA, is located in the foothills of Southwestern Utah. Cedar City is probably best known as the home of the Tony Award-winning Utah Shakespearean Festival, Southern Utah University, and the increasingly popular Utah Summer Games.
It is a city with a strong commercial foundation and enjoys a cultural diversity that stems from its rich history as a 1850's pioneer settlement. Though a modern city with numerous shops, restaurants, a variety of hotels and bed and breakfasts, a Native American village still exists within the city.
Cedar City is also known as a gateway to Utah's National Parks. Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon National Park are within 1.5 hours driving distance. Or for something a little closer, visit Cedar Breaks National Monument, just a 35-minute drive. Cedar Breaks was carved by erosion into an amphitheater 2,500 feet deep and three mile across.
Nearby Brian Head Resort provides a great winter and summer resort vacation value!
Whether attending a play at the theater, enjoying a special occasion celebration, or exploring the Parks or resorts, a stay at a Cedar City B & B is a great option.
