Rockville is a small town in Washington County, just west of the Town of Springdale, and approximately 5 miles from the West entrance to Zion National Park.
It is located along the Virgin River near the mouth of Zion Canyon, and is the site of a historic steel truss bridge which spans the Virgin River. The bridge was built in 1924 and is one of the last surviving examples of a rigid Parker through truss bridge in the state of Utah.
This quiet tree-lined town located on SR-9 on the way to Zion National Park is a small bedroom community with a mixture of long-time local residents and park personnel. No commercial activity is allowed in the town, although several bed and breakfast establishments cater to visitors. The well-known ghost town of Grafton is close by.
Rockville was first known as Adventure, but changed to Rockville because of the rocky soil in the area and the landscape on the Virgin River.  It was first settled in 1860 by Orson Pratt, an Apostle in the Mormon Church.
Rockville is also known as the site for the filming of the 1997 film “Trurh or Consequesces, NM”
