Cedar City, known as Festival City, USA, is located in the foothills of Southwestern Utah where it is said that "Majestic Mountains Marry the Fabulous Desert Floor"! Cedar City is probably best known as the home of the Tony Award-winning Utah Shakespearean Festival, Southern Utah University, and the increasingly popular Utah Summer Games.

It is a city with a strong commercial foundation and enjoys a cultural diversity that stems from its rich history as a 1850's pioneer settlement. A Native American village still exists within the city.

Cedar City is also known as a gateway to Utah's National Parks. Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon National Park are within 1.5 hours driving distance. Or for something a little closer, visit Cedar Breaks National Monument, just a 35-minute drive. Cedar Breaks was carved by erosion into an amphitheater 2,500 feet deep and three mile across. Ridges and pinnacles are stained by minerals and show a rainbow of intense colors, especially noted at sunset.
