Bluff is a small town located in the San Juan River Valley in the southeastern corner of Utah. This San Juan County town provides a wealth of scenic views: fertile farmland to the east, panoramic landscapes to the west, and 300 foot sand stone bluffs to the north providing an amazing Utah backdrop for the town. Around Bluff, Utah you can find Monument Valley, Valley of the Gods, Natural Bridges, Mesa Verde, Arches, Canyonlands and Hovenweep, Cedar Mesa and various Archaeologic sites.

This small Utah town offers Cedar Mesa in particular as a unique area for exploring nature and a part of the local history. This is a site where anceint cultural resources are found in primitive and wilderness like settings. Also known as the Grand Gulch, This Utah plateau will show many fascinating artifacts and remnants of the native Utah indians. Bluff also provides a chance for white water rafting on the San Juan River. From ancient times many cultures have left their mark and told their stories on the painted walls along the San Juan corridor. Besides for the Utah Navajo Paintings this river is known for the steepest gradient in North America!  A fast moving Utah river without technical whitewater, it is a challenging trip with opportunities to view layers of geological formations and to visit fascinating rock art and ruins on short hikes along the way.

The Navajo Reservation borders this San Juan county town. This results in a blending of the native Navajo culture and the Bluff town life. The Native americans contributed to the religion arts and folklore in the region through out history. This can be seen vividly through out Bluff Utah.
